This isn't a political post. This is just a post because I know that having a loved one in the military is a tough thing to go through. There is some scary news out of Iraq this afternoon. As per CNN at 5:00 p.m.:

"At least 10 rockets hit al-Asad airbase in Iraq, which houses US forces, a Sunni commander of the paramilitary forces in a nearby town."

When my son Ryan was serving in Iraq, the news of a rocket strike or IED attack or anything involving our troops being under fire would send me into a tailspin. This afternoon's attack in Iraq has given me terrible flashbacks of how terrifying it is to be waiting to hear from a son or daughter after news of an attack.

If you are a family member or friend of a soldier serving and you are in need of someone to talk to, please feel free to reach out to me. You can email me at tricia@ksii.com, or you can reach me at 880-9393 during the show in the morning.

I am praying for all our troops who are in harm's way and defending our country. Regardless of your political bent, we have troops in danger. Please keep them in your prayers. Please keep their families and loved ones in your prayers, too.

God bless our troops. God bless America.
