How To Celebrate The Holidays In El Paso By Yourself
Whenever the holidays are here, it's a wonderful time to get together with friends & family that you haven't seen in forever. However there might be times where you can't; whether everyone is too busy or they can't visit this year.
But that's ok; because there are still many ways to enjoy the holiday season in El Paso by yourself.
Not every place will be closed during Christmas; there will definitely be restaurants, bars or nightclubs open on Christmas Day/Night. Especially if you've been to Downtown El Paso. The San Jacinto Plaza is decorated with some amazing lights & decorations. You can just go there & bask in the beauty of the city.
Or perhaps you like skating. There's always the ice rink Downtown too. Who says you need a partner? Go by yourself! Maybe you'll run into someone you know there.
Or maybe going out is not what you want to do. Maybe staying at home is up your alley. Well... if you're by yourself.. PARTY IT UP! This is YOUR time to do whatever you want.
Decorate your house with whatever you feel like,
Enjoy all those Christmas cookies or that Christmas dinner you made for yourself.
If you have the house to yourself, blast out any Christmas movies you want, blast out all the Christmas songs you want (and as LOUD as you want). Be like Kevin McAlister from Home Alone, why not?
Or if you feel like doing something good; you can always donate to a local charity. Cause remember... some people (and animals) don't have ANYTHING this year. So you can absolutely donate at the El Paso Animal Services, The El Paso Humane Society, The El Paso Children's Hospital, The El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, any of our charities to help the US Veterans we have in town. Point is... if you want to make the holidays special for someone else, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
And finally the last thing is a pretty obvious one but it's an important one... call your relatives. If you haven't talked to your parents, or your children, or family you haven't talked to in a while, give them a ring. I'm sure they'd love to know that you're thinking about them & who knows, maybe THEY are alone for the holidays too... You might just be able to change that with a simple call, text, message, etc.
I know the holidays are different for everyone, so however you celebrate this year, you CAN make the best of the situation you're in. Happy Holidays.
