Both the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso (HACEP) along with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank are working together to provide food for elderly residents.

Much of our elderly community are self-isolating at this time due to COVID-19 and are now in need of groceries and this is where the fine folks at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger along with the HACEP Resident Services staff are stepping in to deliver essential pantry foods and groceries directly to residents’ doors.

Any residents who wish to order their groceries online can find assistance by reaching out to Resident Services staff members. They will assist by helping them place the order and payment online along with a designated driver assigned to go pick up the groceries and deliver them to the resident’s doorstep.

For residents who receive food stamps, the online payment system is not an option which is why the continued efforts of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger and its volunteers are ever more so important.

The El Paso Department of Public Health (DPH) continues to urge residents to follow prevention measures such as washing hands and self-isolating as much as possible. For the latest information check out the City and DPH social media platforms such as epstrong.org or EPHealth.com and click on the COVID-19 page or dial 2-1-1 and select option six for more information.
