Ah, the magic of Christmas—decorated trees, cookies left out for Santa, and... unwrapped gifts just chilling under the tree? Yep, if you’re over a certain age, you might remember a time when Santa was more about speed than presentation.

A recent poll found that nowadays, Santa almost always wraps gifts for kids. But back in the day? Not so much. About 29% of seniors recall Santa skipping the wrapping paper entirely. Compare that to a mere 6% of people under 30 who experienced this "raw" delivery style.

So, what changed? Did Santa outsource to better-trained elves? Did Mrs. Claus introduce a Pinterest board? Or maybe Santa got tired of hearing complaints like, “Really, Santa? You couldn’t even TRY to make it look festive?”

But let’s cut Santa some slack. December is kind of a busy month for him. Maybe the unwrapped gifts were his way of saying, “Look, kid, I brought you a bike, not an origami masterpiece.” Honestly, who needs wrapping paper when your gift is a whole sleigh full of magic?

Texans, let’s keep it real: if Santa leaves you a brisket smoker or a Dallas Cowboys jersey, are you really going to gripe about the lack of bows and glitter? Just slap a name tag on it, and let’s move on. Who needs all the fluff and filler and miles of tissue paper in every box with one pair of socks in it?

So, here’s to you, Santa. Wrapped, unwrapped, or duct-taped together—we’ll take the gifts. But if you’re planning on skipping the wrapping this year, maybe just leave a note. We promise to still love you. Probably.
