There is nothing worse than looking around you house and yard and seeing things that need to be thrown away, but you don't know how to properly dispose of them. This weekend, you can get rid of a lot of stuff with two free community cleanup events being held by the El Paso County Public Works.

This Saturday, August 31, from 8:00 a.m. to noon (or until the facility reaches capacity), you can drop off your trash at two different locations:

Fabens: 1331 N. Fabens Rd, El Paso, TX 79838
Westway: 1002 Tiffany Rd. Canutillo, TX 79835

You can drop off passenger tires, bulk trash, and electronic waste, but there are some guidelines:

Tires
Only 1,500 tires will be accepted. When that number is reached, no more will be accepted.
Only 5 tires per residence will be accepted.
Tires have to be 17 inches or smaller.
Tires from retailers will NOT be accepted. You cannot throw away semi-truck or equipment tires or tires with rims.

Bulk Trash and Electronic Waste
One pick-up truck load per resident of bulk trash will be accepted, that includes furniture, chairs, carpet, etc.
Electronics include computers and computer accessories, tablets, scanners, video games, cameras, radios, cellphones, VCRs, and DVD players.
CRT monitors and televisions will not be accepted.

You do have to be a resident of El Paso County to take advantage of these events. Some items may not be accepted, so you'll need to sort your bulk waste prior to arrival. If you have any questions, you can call the El Paso County Public Works office at (915) 546-2015.
