This weekend a few local public officials as well as some local public figures will be taking a plunge…. A polar plunge, and it’s all for a good cause!

The Special Olympics Texas works year-round to provide sports training and athletic opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. They can provide these resources through year-round fundraising, and one of those fundraising events is the El Paso Polar Plunge!

People are invited to take the plunge in cold water to help raise funds for our local Special Olympics organization and this year’s Polar Plunge will include a few familiar faces including Sheriff Commander Ryan Urrutia, Judge Lydia Garcia, Horizon Police Chief Marco Vargas, and ABC-7 even news anchor Paul Cicala, to name a few!

The cool shenanigans are going down on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 10 am sharp at the Camp Cohen Water Park.

It’s not too late to join in on the fun, which is all for a good cause. Individuals, teams, businesses, and organizations can register by clicking here.

The entry fees are $60 per adult and $30 per youth.

This fundraising event will also allow guests to shop locally. The Downtown Farmers Market will be part of the frosty festivities, so you can snag some local goodies while supporting a fantastic cause.

Ready to take the plunge? Head to 9700 Gateway N Blvd, El Paso, TX 79924, and join the icy fun on February 3rd. For more deets, slide into GiveButter.com/PasoPlunge or dive into EPWaterParks.com for all things water park wonders.
