Going to go get a COVID-19 test can be a pain in the neck. You have to call and get an appointment, wait in line, blah blah blah. What if you could get a COVID test delivered to your house, wait for it, by drone? Walmart and Quest Diagnostics have teamed up for a pilot program where, if you live within a mile of participating locations, you can get a drone-delivered COVID test.

The program is basically a test to see how drones can be used in the future for other kinds of deliveries. The program is limited to within a one mile radius of the Walmart at 1850 N Zaragoza. The deliveries are available while supplies last every day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. When you get your nasal swab, you'll administer it yourself at home, then ship it to a Quest Diagnostics lab with a pre-paid shipping envelope and then you'll get your results online or through an app. You can watch a video of exactly how things will work by clicking here.

There are a lot more details about this program at the Quest Diagnostic website. You can get more information and sign up for the program by clicking here.

Right now this is just a pilot program in a limited part of town, but just think, they are working on figuring out how to make things easier for us in the future. Drone delivery could be the next big thing. Remember when we were all so impressed at delivery services like Grub Hub and how the littlest thing could be delivered to our doorstep by Amazon? Well, this pilot program could be the next step in at-home delivery.
