New West El Paso Movie Theater, Flix Brewhouse, to Open in June

When Flix Brewhouse announced in February 2018 it was opening a location in El Paso the plan was to have it screening movies and brewing beer in "early 2019."

We now have a more specific target date: June. More specifically, “in the latter part of June,” according to Stuart Shiloff with River Oaks Properties.

River Oaks is the development company behind West Towne Marketplace located at I-10 and Paseo del Norte in Far West El Paso where the combination first-run movie theater and dine-in microbrewery is currently under construction.

Although similar in concept to The Alamo Drafthouse where movie patrons can enjoy a dine-in movie experience, Flix Brewhouse sets itself apart with an in-house microbrewery. The Round Rock, Texas-based company's claim to fame is that it's "the only first run movie theater in the world to incorporate a fully functioning microbrewery."

What that means to movie-goers is that they can enjoy dozens of beers on tap -- many brewed in house -- along with their munchies, and all the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

As far as the movie-watching experience itself, all 9 of the stadium seating auditoriums will be outfitted with the latest high-definition digital and audio technologies, and "proprietary luxury seating" which includes cushy high back chairs and moveable table tops.
