“Last IV. Headed home!”

That’s how a visibly pumped Estela Casas captioned a post-surgery photo on Facebook

The popular Channel 7-KVIA news anchor underwent a double mastectomy Wednesday (2/21), a procedure her oncologist called “a must” on her journey to becoming cancer-free.

Next up for the beloved TV personality will be breast reconstruction. But first she’ll be taking some time off to recover.

“I am going to be away for a little bit, taking care of myself," Casas said in a recorded interview KVIA aired recently. "I am going to be gone for at least four weeks. It all depends on how my body reacts. And how I am emotionally and physically,” she added.

Hang in there, Estela. We’ll keep sending good thoughts your way; you keep fighting the good fight.
