Sign up for a free mammogram during the Stand With Estela Fund drive-thru flu and mammogram health fair at Viva Ford on October 24, 2020.

Thanks to a generous $25,000 donation by Albertson’s – 500 mammograms for uninsured women in El Paso and 500 flu shots (adults only) will be provided during a drive-thru health fair this month.

Three years ago, Estela Casas created the Stand With Estela Fund with the El Paso Community Foundation to help other El Paso women going through their breast cancer experience and to provide financial support such as transportation to and from their chemotherapy, wigs, and so much more.

Today, the Stand With Estela Fund continues to create wellness opportunities by teaming up with Albertson’s, and University Medical Center of El Paso, for its upcoming community health event.

The drive-thru health fair will be signing up 500 uninsured women to get a free mammogram, while 500 flu shots will be provided for adults.

To qualify for a free 3D mammogram exam, women must meet certain criteria including signing up in person at the drive-thru health fair on October 24, 2020.

How It Works:

  • Sign up for a free mammogram exam voucher on October 24 at Viva Ford (5550 N. Desert Blvd.) beginning at 8 a.m.
  • Each participant will receive a voucher for a free 3D mammogram screening at University Medical Center of El Paso.
  • Free mammogram exam vouchers will be available to women over 40 years of age and who are currently uninsured.
  • Flu shots will be available via drive-thru for adults only and will be administered by Albertson’s trained techs and pharmacists.

According to BreastCancer.org, about 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. Sadly, as of January 2020, there are more than 3.5 million women with a history of breast cancer in the U.S., including women currently being treated and women who have finished treatment.

Estela Casas knows the importance of getting screened, as early detection is key and can save lives and will be on-site day-of showing her support at Viva Ford.

Stand With Estela's Fund drive-thru flu and mammogram health fair is made possible in partnership with Albertson's, Viva Auto Group, UMC Foundation, El Paso's Children's Foundation, KVIA, Univision 26, and the Children’s Miracle Network.
