KVIA-TV news anchor Estela Casas will be broadcasting her last newscasts on Monday, January 6, 2020.

For one last time, Estela Casas will be broadcasting the news on Monday, January 6, at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. KVIA-TV will be celebrating her career and previewing what’s next to come for her and the rest of the team.

Estela Casas has covered the biggest stories on the borderland and shared her own for over a quarter of a century and now she is preparing for a new journey.

Casas will be taking on a new role as the Executive Director of the University Medical Center Foundation and the El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation.  Back in 2010, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and in 2017 she was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. Estella publicly shared personal details of her treatment in both those cases, and now will be helping those who face similar medical challenges.

Soon after she was diagnosed with breast cancer she launched the Stand With Estela Fund which is set to raise more than a half-million dollars to assist other cancer patients.

Estela Casas's life journey has propelled her into her new position at UMC of El Paso by helping others in need.

We wish Estela all the best in her new role and while we’ll miss watching her on TV, we know she’s on an upward trajectory in making a continued impact in our community.

Make sure to tune this Monday, January 6, 2020, to catch Estela one last time on ABC affiliate KVIA-TV at:

  • 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m.
