Elon Musk is a man of many… many… ventures. Some that most of us can agree, we don’t understand, but his newest venture is aiming at education.

Yup, move over Longhorns because Elon Musk is setting his sights on the education frontier with plans to launch a cutting-edge university in the heart of Austin, Texas.

*gasps in Spanish*

Now, in true Elon style, this school isn’t going to be like any other school. It’s aiming to be a powerhouse for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.

According to an article online, Musk's charity, appropriately named The Foundation, is fueling this cosmic endeavor with a whopping $100 million donation.

According to Bloomberg News, which had all the juicy details on Musk’s tax filings, the plan kicks off with a primary and secondary school that will eventually blast off into a full-fledged university.

The filing spilled the tea on the school's ambitions, revealing it's set to seek accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

It’s safe to say that the "Keep Austin Weird" slogan is taking on a whole new intergalactic meaning!

This university is also going to embrace the future with both in-person and distance education and the school plans to fund activities through a mix of generous donations and tuition fees. And yes, they're even considering offering financial aid to students who need it.

There’s no official name for this University yet but I’m sure the second a name comes to life, Elon will make sure that we all know about it!

But now I’m curious to know: How does Matthew McConaughey feel about this news??
