The El Paso Zoo has announced that Juno the Asian Elephant at the El Paso Zoo has undergone a second successful treatment.

The whole medical team along with El Paso Zoo staff has successfully performed a second round of electrochemotherapy on Juno.

Back in January, Juno was diagnosed with a malignant mass in her right mammary gland and soon after in March had her first electrochemotherapy treatment and then once again this week.

The nature of Juno’s case was so distinctive that Nat Geo Wild covered Juno’s journey on the program Animal ER which introduced the technology and therapy behind the procedure.

According to the El Paso Zoo, after the second successful therapy session Juno is walking around and is being closely watched and monitored to ensure she is comfortable as she continues on her road to recovery.
