Texas Monthly is singing the praise of Winterfest in its current online edition.

The award-winning magazine, considered an authority on the Texas scene, recently published an article titled These Holiday Celebrations Across Texas Will Get You in the Spirit and included our home-grown event on the featured collection of “some of the best ways to celebrate the season.”

Here’s what they had to say about Winterfest:

El Paso is proof that you don’t need snow to celebrate the season. The city’s popular WinterFest…transforms San Jacinto Plaza in the heart of downtown into a light extravaganza.

From its inception in 2015, "the coolest Fest in the Southwest" has been a major success providing a snowstorm of fun for locals and visitors alike, and making downtown the seasonal photo-taking destination.

With its Winter Wonderland of glimmering lights and family-friendly activities that include an outdoor ice-skating rink in the Arts Festival Plaza, and free classic holiday movies on select Sundays at the Plaza Theatre it has become one of our city's top Christmas-themed events.

Winterfest will light up the night through Sunday, January 5, 2020.
