El Paso, Texas Now Has 505 Total Confirmed COVID-19 Cases, 23 New

On April 18th, 2020 The City of El Paso has released the latest numbers for COVID-19 cases in the city. As of tonight, El Paso stands at 23 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 505 confirmed cases.

Unfortunately, there has been one more COVID-19 reported death of a male in his 70s with underlying heath conditions, according to the City of El Paso press release. The total COVID-19 related deaths is now at eight.

El Pasoans are still under the 'Stay Home, Work Safe' order which has been amended to issue citations if people disobey it, in hopes of keeping more people at home. The 'Stay Home, Work Safe' order has now has been extended till May 17th. Many parks and public areas have been closed in an attempt to keep people from possibly spreading COVID-19.

It is scary how fast the virus can be spread, especially when people are not practicing social distancing. Please take the proper precautions to keep you, your family, friends, and coworkers safe. Ultimately, keep your fellow El Pasoan healthy. Stay strong, stay healthy.

The CDC now advises anyone who is going out to work or to purchase essentials, please wear a cloth face covering while practicing social distancing.
