This year the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a summer concert series that includes a Juan Gabriel Tribute Band among its lineup this year.

Just like many other event organizers, El Paso’s Parks and Recreation Department is going virtual by revamping its summer concert series online as it adapts to the ongoing pandemic.

The revamped online music series began on August 14th with Los Nobles Band and will continue this Friday with Hypnosis Band performing music from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s followed by a Juan Gabriel Tribute Band featuring Aaron Palacios.

Fans of Juan Gabriel can tune in from the comfort of their homes on Friday, August 28th online to enjoy a concert while social distancing all together.

The late Juan Gabriel was set to perform to a sold-out crowd at the Don Haskins Center back in 2016 but hours before his slated appearance, the legendary Mexican singer passed away.

The Virtual Summer Concert Series is broadcasted live via the El Paso Parks and Recreation Facebook Page beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday night for the remainder of August.

The August Virtual Summer Concert Series lineup includes:

  • August 21 – Hypnosis Band
  • August 28 – Aaron Palacios (Juan Gabriel Tribute Band)
