Visiting Santa is a rite of passage for many children. But for a child with special needs, it is, more often than not, out of the question. The hustle and bustle of a crowded mall and the noise that comes with the most wonderful time of the year can be too much for families and children with autism and other special needs.

To avoid the potentially stressful situation, all three El Paso malls will open early this Sunday morning, December 4, to give these children a less-intimidating environment to deliver their wish lists to Santa.

Cielo Vista Mall, Sunland Park Mall, and Bassett Place have each created a sensory-friendly photo environment with The Big Guy in the Red Suit that lessens behavioral triggers and supports different sensory, physical and developmental needs.
