Got a warrant?

Well, if you want to avoid the possibility of being arrested during a planned upcoming warrant roundup you're going to want to take care of it sooner than later.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office, along with the District Attorney's Office and the county court administration have launched Operation Safe Streets to give ruffians, hoodlums, outlaws, and miscreants a chance to clear their outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants while taking advantage of being processed at the Satellite Booking Office in lieu of the County Jail.

This is also an opportunity to avoid your name appearing on a criminal warrant list that will be published online and in one of those old fashioned things called a 'newspaper,' and subsequently being mocked by friends, family, and co-workers. County Sheriff's and other law enforcement will begin conducting a roundup in the coming weeks and anyone on the list who hasn’t had their warrant recalled risks ending up in handcuffs and in the back of a police car.

The Sheriff's Office and the El Paso County District Attorney's Office suggests those with a misdemeanor warrant take care of it at the Satellite Booking Office located on the first floor of the El Paso County Courthouse. Going that route allows people with warrants to be processed through the system and post bond without having to see the inside of the county jail.

It's important to note this is not one of those ticket amnesty things; court fees are not being waived.
