There is nothing worse than being hungry. Not "I could really use a large pizza and chicken wings" hungry, but real, honest-to-God "I haven't eaten for two days and payday is three days away and I have no money, what the hell am I going to do" hungry.

If you want to help people who are hungry, the El Paso Chihuahuas and Whataburger are making it easy for you to do that. They are teaming up to host the fifth annual food drive at Southwest University Park, Wednesday, May 29th through Sunday, June 2nd. The drive will benefit the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank.

If you donate 3 or more canned goods, non-perishable food items, or a minimum of one dollar, you'll get one coupon from Whataburger good for a free Whataburger, while supplies last. Every $1 donation produces up to 7 meals for people who would otherwise go hungry.

Non-perishable food like canned vegetables and fruits, soups, high protein items such as tuna and peanut butter, boxed pastas and cereals, and staples such as packaged rice and beans are what the Chihuahuas, Whataburger, and El Pasoans Fighting Hunger are looking for.

Susan Goodell, Chief Executive Officer of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger says Whataburger and the Chihuahuas are helping the 200,000 food insecure El Pasoans get food for themselves and their families.

If you can help, please do. For as little as five dollars, you could be helping up to 35 people stave off hunger for another day. If you've ever had to face hunger like that, you know how horrible it was for you. Imagine families not being able to feed their children. Hopefully all Chihuahuas fans will help out during this food drive.
