El Paso and Las Cruces Top National List – Was it Good or Bad?

While so much negativity is in the news a group by the name of Barna Group decided to see what's good in the world and report on that. They compiled a list of the top most charitable cities in the U.S.

The data was collected by a polling firm with mounds of data. The data was a list of the top 50 most generous cities in America, basing the report on data collected from 76,505 U.S. adults over the past 10 years. Based on that measure alone, the most generous cities in the listing were El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico, with 92% of residents located there expressing such charitable donations. Way to go Sun City and Las Cruces!

Most of the donations in the cities were given to churches. In fact 87% of the monetary charitable donations went to places of worship. This sort of makes sense with the population being mostly Hispanic in turn being Catholic or Christian, then donating to their own places of worship. Still with these numbers I say pat yourselves on your back El Paso and Las Cruces!
