Downtown Farmers Market Relocates to West El Paso Community Park Saturday

The Downtown Art and Farmers Market won’t be downtown again this Saturday, October 1.

The weekly city-sponsored vendors market is “temporarily relocating” from its usual spot in the Union Plaza District and popping up on the west side near Franklin High.

El Paso Downtown Artist and Farmers Market is a year-round, outdoor artisan market that features original arts and crafts, food trucks, regionally grown agricultural products, and entertainment from local artists.

The market calls the Union Plaza District home most Saturdays, but this Saturday, October 1, it will spend the mid-day at the Don Haskins Recreation Center at 7400 High Ridge just down the street from Franklin High School off Resler.

Many of the usual downtown vendors and merchants, local food trucks, and performing artists you know and love will tag along at each temporary location.

The city of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department recently reopened the Don Haskins Recreation Center after a two-year pandemic pause.

The rec center is part of the Westside Community Park that includes a dog park, hike and bike trails, sports fields, picnic stations, a covered playground, and a shade pavilion.

The market will return downtown on October 8 to celebrate Chalk the Block.
