Construction of the temporary skating rink in Downtown El Paso is underway.

Once completed, the open air rink located in the Arts Festival Plaza between the El Paso Museum of Art and the Plaza Theatre will serve as the focal point of the inaugural Winterfest holiday celebration.

Adding to the holiday festiveness will be a 25-foot Christmas tree and 6-foot snow globe. The life-size snow globe will allow visitors the opportunity to take photographs as they pose inside.

Other attractions include a Winter Village for vendors to sell merchandise, the Kringle Kafe which will have snacks and hot beverages for purchase, and an entertainment stage.

Winterfest officially opens Saturday December 3. The Arts Festival Plaza and Mills St. will be lit up from December 3rd through January 8th. Skate tickets go on sale on November 23, 2016.
