Mark your calendars, El Paso. Winterfest, "the coolest Fest in the Southwest" is back and that means a major snowstorm of fun in Downtown El Paso.

The area around the Plaza Theatre has once again been transformed into a Winter Wonderland of lights and seasonal activities that includes an open air ice skating rink as the focal point of the holiday celebration.

The rink, located next to the Plaza Theatre, will be open 7 days a week beginning Saturday, November 23 through Sunday January 5.

Adding to the holiday festiveness will be Instagrammable decorations like a 25-foot Christmas tree and a life-size snow globe you can pose inside.

Other attractions include a Winter Market full of vendors, the Holiday Cafe where you can sit down and enjoy snacks and hot beverages, and the WinterFest Express, which lets you experience the all-new Paseo de las Luces for free.

So if you're ready to welcome the holidays with open arms, and glide, slide and twirl the Christmas season away, here's what you need to know before you go.
