The City of El Paso is hosting its annual “Thanksgiving Celebration” for the homeless and less fortunate in El Paso on November 24, 2016.

The community meal will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016 at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center.

Sun Metro will also get into the spirit of giving with their “Customer Appreciation Day” where all bus rides will be free that day to help ensure those in need have a way to get to the convention center for the Thanksgiving Celebration.

The Salvation Army and the Rescue Mission of El Paso assist with cooking and providing meals for more than 5,000 people. If you would like to make a donation the following food items are still needed:

  • Canned goods
  • Peas
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Carrots
  • Plastic utensils
  • Coffee
  • Corn
  • Boxed Mashed Potatoes
  • Plates
  • Green Beans
  • Butter
  • Cups
  • Corn Starch
  • Seasonings
  • Sugar
