City of El Paso Holding Its Annual Thanksgiving Celebration on November 26
The City of El Paso is once again hosting its annual “Thanksgiving Celebration” for the homeless and needy on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 2015.
Sun Metro will also get involved this year by having a “Customer Appreciation Day” where all bus rides will be free that day to help ensure those in need have a way to get to the convention center for the Thanksgiving Celebration.
This year organizers are preparing meals for more than 4,000 people with the Salvation Army and the Rescue Mission of El Paso assist with cooking and providing meals to all who attend. In order to keep feeding the homeless and needy throughout the year, the community’s assistance is encouraged. All donations go to the Salvation Army and the Rescue Mission. The following items are sought:
- Turkeys
- Peas
- Cranberry Sauce
- Stuffing
- Carrots
- Plastic utensils
- Corn
- Boxed Mashed Potatoes
- Plates
- Green Beans
- Butter
- Cups
- Corn Starch
- Seasonings
- Sugar
- Coffee
- Canned Goods
Donations should be dropped off at the Rescue Mission Salvation Army located at 1949 West Paisano 4300 East Paisano.
