Oh man do I love me a classic movie. But a classic movie that also contains a classic Christmas song that will break your heart and have you crying your eyes out one minute then smiling and feeling all warm and happy and fuzzy the next? Well, my friend, buy me a ticket to that movie.

One of my favorite classic movies is 'Meet Me In St. Louis' with Judy Garland. The movie was made in 1944 when the country was still fighting World War II. The song 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' is sung by Garland because she and her little sister are sad because they are faced with the prospect of leaving their St. Louis home and moving to New York after their father is offered a promotion at work. The song was written for the movie, but Garland thought it was too sad and asked for a rewrite. She got it and that's the version that is in the movie. Truthfully, it is such a sad song that I wonder how sad the original version was.

I've only seen 'Meet Me In St. Louis' on tv, but I'm going to definitely catch it on the big screen, and you can too. On Sunday, December 8, at 1:00 p.m., you can see 'Meet Me In St. Louis' at Cinemark 20 & XD 11855 Gateway Boulevard West. On Wednesday, December 11, you can see it at Cinemark 20 & XD at 4:00 p.m.

If you have never seen a classic movie or have only seen this one on tv, you have got to go see this movie. It is fun and silly and so sweetly nostalgic that you'll fall in love with it, I promise.
