Canutillo Is Talking About Closing Down For Pope’s Visit

If you child attends school in the Canutillo Independent School District, you need to know about a meeting being held today about February 17th. That's the day the Pope will be in Juarez, and the day that most of El Paso will be shut down. City and County offices will be closed, as will a number of El Paso school districts. CISD decided to keep their doors open, but today, they will revisit the issue.

The CISD school board said they want to give their school board trustees one more chance to vote on the issue and make sure that everyone is comfortable with their decision to remain open.

The meeting is open to the public.
