No reported injuries were reported. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit southwest of Carlsbad near the boundary of Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The ranger station in the park reported feeling some slight bumps and shaking, which is about 45 minutes from the epicenter.

There have been about 10 smaller quakes in this area in the past year.
