9-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shoots Gun Instructor in Arizona
A 9-year-old girl was learning how to use an automatic weapon, when she lost control of the gun and accidentally shot and killed her instructor.
Charles Vacca, 39, was teaching the young girl how to use an Uzi Monday morning, at Last Stop Shooting Range in White Hills, Arizona. The young girl is seen in the video having control of the gun as she fires one shot, but once she pulled the trigger again, "the kickback caused the gun to lurch over her head. according to investigators.
Vacca was struck by a stray bullet and airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the hospital, late Monday night.
The manager of Last Stop's shooting range, Sam Scarmardo, told NBC news "the establish practice at most shooting ranges is 8 years old and up with parental supervision." The young girl's parents were with her at the time of the incident.
