Texas Celebration Ends in Gunshot and 1 Injured in Viral Video
Fiesta in San Antonio left one man shot and many others fleeing and scared during what was supposed to be a fun night of celebration.
FUN TIMES CUT SHORT
A 25-year-old man was mysteriously shot by an unknown suspect. In a now-viral video, you can see a huge crowd around the historic Market Square in downtown San Antonio. Music is blaring, everyone is dancing, and then, out of nowhere, everything stops.
A SINGLE GUNSHOT ECHOS IN MARKET SQUARE
Around 10:30 pm a single gunshot is heard and the entire crowd begins to scramble and flee the area. The police suddenly appear and begin searching for a suspect. The DJ stays on the mic during the catastrophe and continues making announcements, telling the crowd, "Hold up hold up hold up, oh s***SAPD in the building everybody scatter gunshot heard."
SCRAMBLING TO FIND THE VICTIM
SAPD locates the man, who was found wounded on the ground. According to police, "The crowd around him and whoever shot him fled. The man’s family was with him when the shooting occurred."
Beer cans, drinks, and straws were scattered all over the floor in Market Square as people dropped their belongings to clear the area. At one point the DJ is heard saying, "This is why we can't have fun guys."
NO SUSPECT IDENTIFIED
The 25-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and reports show he is in critical condition. So far, no suspect has been identified. The 10-day Fiesta celebration ended early Wednesday night after the incident. The rest of the celebration and events will continue throughout San Antonio until Sunday, April 30th.
