Get ready Starbucks fanatics – come May 29th all Starbucks in El Paso will close for the day so that employees can attend a racial bias training course.

Last Thursday two black men entered a Starbucks in Philadelphia to wait on their friend and while there they asked to use the bathroom but were told that it was only available to paying customers, so the two instead sat down and waited around until their friend showed up. However the manager of the store proceeded to call the police and the two men were arrested. While the store did not file any charges and the two men were released, there has been a huge backlash from the incident and Starbucks has been in damage control mode ever since.

Starbucks' solution to further prevent such a situation in the future is to hold a 'racial bias training' course come May 29th and therefore will close all its stores to focus on making sure that their employees are all trained.

We reached out to Starbucks asking if the El Paso stores would be closing and this is what their response was:

So, there you have it – on May 29th there will be no Starbucks for anyone so you may want to start thinking about an alternate cup o’ joe…and honestly it is unfortunate that the actions of one person has affected such an outcome but we should also note that the actions of one person does in fact matter and we should keep that in mind the next time we think our voice doesn't count in any scenario.

By the way, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson apparently met with the two guys and offered his sincerest apologies while the Philadelphia store manager who called the cops on the two guys no longer is employed by Starbucks.
