If you are looking for a pet, you should never shop - you should adopt! There are hundreds of animals that need a forever home, and that means they need you.

El Paso Animal Services is doing their part by offering free adoption events throughout the year. This is the third month in a row that they are offering a free adoption event. Animal Services spokeswoman Michele Anderson says the goal of the shelter is to become a no-kill shelter in the future. The way to do that is to make sure that the animals in the shelter can get adopted, and free adoption events help to clear the shelter of a huge backlog of cats and dogs.

This weekend, you go to the El Paso Animal Services shelter and check out the doggos and cats available for adoption. Animal Services will be waiving adoption fees for the first ninety adoptions beginning this Friday, March 8, through Sunday, March 9. After that, a small nine dollar fee will be charged to adopt the remaining cats and dogs adopted through the weekend adoption event.

You can adopt a dog or cat at the Animal Services shelter this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The Animal Services Center is located in the northeast part of town, 5001 Fred Wilson Avenue.
