Where’s Ch.7 Anchor Erik Elken? On Parental Leave (Adorable Baby Pics Included)

If you watch the evening newscasts on ABC7 you may have noticed co-anchor Erik Elken has been M.I.A.

No, he hasn’t left the El Paso airwaves --- at least, not for good. The now two-time dad is on paternity leave and will be away from the anchor desk “for a little while.”

Erik and his wife, Megan, welcomed Jack Erik Elken into the world August 12. “He joined us at 8:06 p.m. and Mommy was a Rockstar!” the proud papa announced on social media.

“Thank you to everyone who has sent well wishes, cards, diapers/wipes, clothes, etc. Megan and I are so grateful for your kind words and gestures,” he wrote in a separate post accompanied by a photo of the newborn and older brother, Avery.
