It appears that one of the riveted blades used in the food processor can crack and leave metal shards in the processed food. This complication has lead to 69 reports of users finding metal shards in their food which resulted in mouth lacerations and tooth injuries.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the massive recall Tuesday, saying customers who bought any of the affected models between July 1996 and December 2015 should stop using the riveted blade immediately. More than 22 models are affected over the 19 year span.

If you have any questions about the recall should contact Cuisinart at 877-339-2534 or visit the website for a free replacement blade. For a complete list of the recalled models, they are available on the CPSC website.
