6,000 Jobs, Over 200 Employers at El Paso’s Biggest Job Fair Today

Sometimes the hardest thing about finding a job is all the running around you have to do to talk to different potential employers.  Think how much easier things would be if there was a place you could go to get in front of over 200 companies that are hiring!

The companies are part of the Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande job fair that happens today at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center,  1 Civic Center, on Santa Fe Street near Durango Street, from 9a - 5p.

It's El Paso's biggest job fair with more than 200 employers and 6,000 job openings available.

Workforce Solutions says of their job fair, "We are committed to help lower El Paso's high unemployment rate."

You can get in front of employers like Hewlett-Packard, which has 23 job openings at its El Paso software applications and development center, and CVS pharmacy, that is looking to fill 46 full- and part-time jobs.

CVS is renovating a Downtown building to house one of its first El Paso stores.

There will also be temporary staffing agencies and call centers at the Job Expo.

There is also an educational expo at this year's event.

50 universities, colleges and career schools will be on hand to get out information about educational opportunities.

Eleventh- and 12th-graders from El Paso area schools will be bused to the convention center to check out future higher-education possibilities, and several career-enhancement workshops will also be held during the Job Fair.

Remember, you will be able to interview with potential employers today, so dress to impress your new boss!  If you've worn that dress or pair of stilletos to go clubbing, DON'T WEAR THEM TODAY!  If you look like the picture at the left, go back into your closet and try again!
