Free Music Series – Who’s Playing Where in El Paso This Week

Whether you’re a fan of rock, jazz, cumbias or country, you’ll find a local band performing it at one of the many free outdoor music series. Here’s a roundup of who’s playing where today through Sunday, June 29, 2014:

Wednesday June 25

Crave Summer Music Series – Live entertainment on the patio at Crave Kitchen and Bar, Rojas location. 7:30 – 10 p.m. This week, Arturo Garibay. More Info

Rudolph Free Music Series at the State Line Bar-B-Q – Shows are 21 and older. On the patio from 8 to 10 p.m. This week, Del Castillo. More Info

Thursday June 26

Cool Canyon Nights – Free concerts in the cool shade of the 1,500-seat McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Music on the patio starts at 6:15 p.m. Concessions, including beer, will be for sale. This week on the main stage, Brown Betty. More Info

Friday June 27

Alfresco! Fridays – Fresh-air performances from local bands playing various genres of music. 6 p.m. No Outside Food or Beverages Allowed. No Pets Allowed. Still downtown, but now on the Convention Center Plaza. This week, Sobredosis del Sabor (salsa, cumbia). More Info

Friday at the Fire – Live music by local bands set against the ambiance of the Freedom Crossing at Ft. Bliss outdoor fireplace. 6 – 11 p.m. This week, Sha'Vonne (Variety, R&B).

Saturday June 28

Dancing In the City – The outdoor dance/concert series includes a dance lesson at 7:00 p.m. and a live music performance from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. In the Convention Center Plaza next to Abraham Chavez Theatre. This week, Sangre Gitana (Flamenco).

The Fountains at Farah Sunset Sounds – Local and regional band perform in The Promenade at the Fountains for “sunset’ shoppers,” weather permitting, from 7pm to 9pm. Blankets and lawn chair encouraged, food and beverages available. This week, Brown Betty. More Info

Sunday June 29

Music under the Stars – Pack a picnic and take the family to the Chamizal National Memorial for an evening of music and dancing under the stars.7:30pm to 9:30pm. This week, Son Ardiente (Latin). More Info

Melodies at the Park – This annual series highlights a variety of local acts while showcasing some of the city’s parks. Bring your lounge chairs. There will be food vendors on site. 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. This week, Moon Dogs El Chuco, Extremo Tropical, and Mike V and the Top Cats perform at Pavo Real Park 9301 Alameda Ave. More Info, 544-0753 or 252-9031
