A zoo in Denmark is under fire after dissecting a one-year-old lion in front of large crowd that included children.

The Odense Zoo in Demark has been holding public dissections for years as part of an educational program.

The lion being dissected was actually put down nine months ago because the zoo has no conservation programs and tends to end up with a surplus of animals and have to often put them down.

In the video, you can see both children and adults holding their noses as they curiously watch the public dissection.

Last year, a zoo in Copenhagen was criticized and faced international protests after it killed a healthy giraffe and then dissected it and fed it to the zoo’s lions.
