William Shatner is in.

The Golden Globe® and Emmy Award® winning actor, best known for his iconic role as Capt. James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, cleared his calendar and has signed on to appear at El Paso Comic-Con on its new October dates.

The Shat, as he’s affectionately referred as by his legion of fans, made the announcement on his official Twitter account. “EL PASOANS!” he excitedly tweeted, “I will see you on Friday October 2nd and Saturday October 3rd!”

As 93.1 KISS-FM previously reported, organizers were forced to reschedule the annual hometown comic book and sci-fi festival from its original April dates to Oct. 2-4 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Like Shatner, Michael Rooker is also scheduled to appear at EPCON on its new dates. Rooker is best known for his roles as Yondu Udonta, the blue-skinned alien in The Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and as Daryl Dixon’s older brother Merle on the first couple of seasons of the AMC series The Walking Dead.

Former wrestler Mick Foley, and David Yost of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers fame are other notables from the group of original signees also appearing, according to the El Paso Comic-Con website.
