El Paso Celebrities That Should Be on a Real Life Squid Game Show
The world was introduced to the Squid Game last year & it became a HUGE sensation that here in El Paso, we instantly took a liking to. We talked about which El Paso games we would play in Squid Game, which locations in El Paso would make for an AWESOME game of Red Light, Green Light & even the Buzz Adams Morning Show had a giant piñata that looked like the statue in the show.
With Netflix announcing a REAL LIFE Squid Game show, where contestants can play for real money, I can EASILY see a couple of El Paso celebrities making an appearance...
Charlie Clark:
The one & only Green Ghost. If he can handle fighting supernatural beings alongside Danny Trejo, I think he can easily appear on the show & maybe even win it all.
Stephanie Valle:
KVIA's own Stephanie Valle, host of the Borderland Crimes podcast, is an absolute pick in terms of brains for Squid Game. Also, she can show that she can run a half-marathon, which is a VERY handy skill to have.
Jim Ward:
One of the most recognizable musicians from El Paso & the owner of the restaurant Eloise, he's a sure fire pick as a contestant (or to compose the soundtrack). After all his music HAS been featured on the big screen before...
Chavo Guerrero:
In the world of wrestling, the Guerrero name is revered by many. Eddie Guerrero is looked at one of the best wrestlers that ever lived. Eddie & Chavo have represented El Paso for decades so with that being said. I think Chavo is a great pick for Squid Game.
Sin Cara:
Another wrestling El Paso native, Sin Cara is ABSOLUTLY loved here: he was honored during the Sun Bowl Parade in 2018, there's a mural in town that shows him among some other Latin artists, not to mention the COUNTLESS meet & greets he's done with fans. Sin Cara gets my vote.
Aaron Jones:
Former UTEP Miner & current Green Bay packer, Aaron Jones is an El Pasoan true & true: He has his own sports bar & gril in town called Showtyme & he came back to his hometown to celebrate his father a year after his passing. And I don't think I even need to mention how good he is on the field...
Khalid:
One of the biggest pop stars to ever come out of El Paso, Khalid with his love for El Paso & his star power ALONE earns him a spot from me.
Tuff Hedeman:
One of the best bull riders in the country, El Paso's Tuff Hedeman deserves a spot here not just because of his many bull riding championships... he's got TUFF right in his name! That's a sure fire pick to be on Squid Game.
And of course I have make a mention to some of our very own KLAQ staff like... Veronica Gonzales
Ray Arreola, who's always hiking or playing guitar around town.
and last but not least... Buzz Adams
While Buzz might not be the most athletic, if they're all games that require brains or manipulation, I think he could easily win.
