UTEP’s Spring Graduates Will Receive Degrees But No Ceremony

Another day, another event that must be postponed. The University of Texas (UTEP) at El Paso has announced they will postpone their spring commencement ceremony over concerns of the coronavirus.

According to UTEP Officials and KTSM.com, UTEP students will receive their degrees BUT they will have to wait until the fall to walk across the stage. New ceremony dates will be announced once they can decide on one.

This decision was made due to the Center for Disease and Prevention recommendation to the city to hold off on large gatherings. We know how crazy UTEP ceremonies can get, so it is best to hold off on any activities involving so many people.
