TxDOT El Paso Announces Complete Closures Of I-10 East September 11 – 13
Construction is happening all over town, and it's a gigantic hassle, but it usually affects the west side of town. But this time, eastsiders need to get ready for three days of freeway closures.
TxDOT says they need to close down I-10 on the east side for spalling repairs. What is spalling, you ask. Well, according to Jennifer Wright, Public Affairs Officer for TxDOT El Paso:
"It’s the concrete joints you see on pavement, and where they join, the concrete sometimes cracks, breaks, or flakes, and it needs to be repaired. Sometimes these joints align with the lanes, sometimes not."
So there you have it. Repairs need to be made, and that means you'll need to know about these closures:
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Complete closure
I-10 eastbound between the Lee Trevino exit ramp to Lee Trevino entrance ramp
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 AND TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Complete closure
I-10 westbound between the Lee Trevino exit ramp to Lomaland entrance ramp
