A Trump rally took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico last night and I’m not surprised of the outcome considering the population in Albuquerque has many Hispanics and opposing Trump voters.

Protests outside the rally turned violent as demonstrators threw burning T-shirts, plastic bottles and other items at police officers. They also overturned trash cans and knocked down police barricades. Police responded to the rioting by firing pepper spray and smoke grenades into the crowd outside the Albuquerque Convention Center.

During the rally, Trump was interrupted repeatedly by protesters, who shouted, held up banners and resisted removal by security officers. At one point a woman was dragged out of the rally. And Trump, with his charm, commenting “take them out of here, go home to mommy”.

Those siding with Trump started chanting “build a wall”, it wasn’t a pretty site for anyone. Trump read off some negative statistics about the state during the rally, including an increase in the number of people on food stamps. This rally was Trump's first visit to New Mexico during his presidential campaign.
