Celebrities have been airing their dirty laundry, more like dirty bodies, about how often they bathe themselves and their kids. The topic has taken off and more and more celebrities are wading their way into the bathwater on the debate.

It all started when Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were guests on Dax Shepard's “Armchair Expert” podcast. The discussion turned towards their children's hygiene and they began discussing how often they bathed their kids. Mila explained that when she was growing up she didn't have hot water so she didn't bathe often and did the same for her kids. Dax's wife Kristen Bell agreed, saying she was a big believer in "waiting for the sink."

During an interview with The View, Bell explained that she would wait "five to six days" before she would bathe her kids. Many were shocked by both the celebrity couple's admissions and other celebrities started weighing in with their hygiene regimen.

Heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal recently admitted he finds bathing "less necessary" according to a Vanity Fair interview. And while there are celebrities who don't mind smelling ripe at times, others are standing firm saying they are fans of cleanliness. After the debate began, Cardi B says the thought of not showering was making her "itchy" feeling and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson admitted he's such a big fan of showering, he sometimes does it three times a day.

So how often should you be showering? Experts say a daily shower is best, helping you get rid of the sweat and grime of daily life. Not showering daily can lead to you having irritated skin, funky smells, and built-up bacteria on the skin can lead to infections.

Hopefully, you fall into the daily shower range but if not, we're praying you have that Brad Pitt money you can shower in daily instead. You can read more about why you need to shower daily at the DailyMail website.
