The Joey C. 6!

Here is what’s sitting sexy at the top of my playlist for this month! I consider my taste to be pretty broad and my only rule is that I can’t force myself to like it. For example, I believe that you can take any album and play it over and over and eventually the songs will begin to get stuck in your head whether you actually like them or not. I like to give a song or an artist a cute listen and if I like it, I take it to the bank. My playlist is called “Cake & Piñatas” so that might give you a clue of what to expect. I want my music to sound like candy, I love autotune and music that is designed for the listener to have a good time. Of course, I like ballads and interesting artsy nonsense but for the most part I’m a pop & dance kinda guy. If you want to feel good, if you’re in the mood to dance & party, if you wanna get a little rachet, etc then these are this month's picks for you to add to your playlist. They are at the top of mine! Enjoy!

Portugal The Man - “Feel It Still”

Portugal The Man is performing in El Paso at the Plaza theatre on October the 13th and I’m shook! Doesn’t the hook remind you of “Hey! Wait a minute Mr. Postman” or am I the only one that sings those lyrics? You can register to win tickets to see Portugal The Man at www.kisselpaso.com!
Dua Lipa - "New Rules"

This song has been all over the internet with people remaking their version of the music video and it seems to be picking up momentum not only in night clubs but on regular rotation for radio and streaming. Dua Lipa's album wasn't my favorite record but there are a couple of gems and the remixes to her stuff is fire!

Marshmallow & Future - “Mask Off”

I’m still on a high from seeing Marshmallow at this years Sun City Music Festival and Khalid poppin’ in for a surprise performance of their song “Silence!” So litty! Marsh, jumps on a remix of Future’s song “Mask Off” for a delicious booty poppin’ fiasco.

Oh, you guys! I saw KimChi from Ru Paul’s Drag Race slay for the gawds at Touch Bar & Nightclub in El Paso last month and this was the song she performed to as her entrance piece. Meeting people that are on TV is always an interesting experience because you kinda get to know them on the show but KimChi was the most true-to-life reality TV personality! What a nice little lady! Well, not so little. She is the quintessential 7 foot tall, anime extravaganza!

Nadia Ali! My queen! This is a voice that you just can't forget. From her first commercial appearance on “Rapture” to her most recent hit “Pressure” with Starkillers, Alex Kenji & Alesso, Nadia has been a friend of mine for almost 10 years. When I heard she had joined Sultan & Shepard for a new song called “Almost Home” I shook and cried. Nadia was kind enough to grant me an interview to talk about “Almost Home” and she even partylined the boys! That’s right, I interviewed Nadia Ali, Sultan & Shepard at the same damn time! Check out the full chat here and add “Almost Home” to your playlist today!

Major Lazer Ft Anitta & Pabllo Vittar - “Sua Cara”

I’m a big fan of anything Major Lazer does and had noticed Anitta in Iggy Azalea’s latest effort called “Switch.” I didn’t even realize that Pabllo Vittar was a drag queen until I started researching Anitta & Vittar. I thought it was a cool move on Major Lazer’s part to include a member of the LGBTQ community in a commercial release and not promote it in a way that was different to the other releases. This is my favorite of the bunch right now. Issa vibe. Too lit.
