Annual Texas Tech El Paso Christmas Event Goes Drive Through, Lights Up This Weekend
I think we can all agree if there was ever a year that could use some holiday cheer it's 2020. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center will be doing its part to lift our community's spirit by going forward with its annual "Cookies, Cocoa and Holiday Cheer" celebration.
And while TTU isn’t going to let the pandemic keep it from lighting up the night, the event will take on a different look due to the coronavirus. For starters, the 6th Annual Cookies, Cocoa and Holiday Cheer will not take place on the TTU campus and it won’t be a one night in-person event.
Instead, the medical school has partnered with The Hospitals of Providence to hold a two-night drive-through holiday light show at the hospital’s Transmountain Campus in far west El Paso on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12.
As in years past, the festive light show will be accompanied by cheerful holiday music, and will include special appearances from Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, and the Snow Princesses. And although it will look different and its presentation will be different, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's goal remains the same: to bring El Pasoans some much needed holiday cheer. And some cookies and cocoa, of course.
