I love to spend time in the garden but I'm the kind of gardener who buys plants because they're pretty, put them in the ground, water them, and then am very often mystified as to why they insist on dying. My mom and sister have the greenest thumbs around but I just put things in the ground or in pots and hope for the best. If you garden like I garden, maybe you should sign up for the Master Gardener Class at El Paso Community College.

The class is non-credit but at least it might help you stop slaughtering plants like I do. Master Gardeners will teach you about soil improvement, turf grass, vegetable gardening, native and adapted plants, xeriscaping, herb and container gardening, fertilizers, and pesticides.

The classes are on Saturday mornings and the number of students is extremely limited so you'll definitely want to sign up as quickly as possible. Click here for the registration form.

This class will be taught in-person so teachers and students will be asked to not come to class if they do not feel well or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. Temperatures will be taken at the door each day of class. You will have to wear a mask. Social distancing will be followed. Materials brought to class by the teachers will be sanitized before class and after any student handles them.
