You might not be able to shoot fireworks this Fourth of July. For the fifth year in a row, El Paso County Commissioners will be talking about banning fireworks because of drought conditions.

Today, the Las Cruces City Council passes a fireworks restrictions that limits the use of fireworks to areas of paved or barren land, but the ban might be lifted just in time for the Fourth of July.
El Paso County and the City of El Paso have banned the sale and use of all fireworks this Fourth of July. Only professional shows will be allowed. But there are places in the Borderland where you can legally buy and shoot off fireworks.
