2017 Sun City Fair Returns to El Paso’s Ascarate Park March 31
Get ready for two weeks of deep-fried foods, carnival rides, pig races, and live music because the Sun City Fair is coming back to Ascarate Park March 31 to April 16, 2017.
Headlining this year's live music performances are country band Diamond Rio, Southern rockers Molly Hatchet, and rock group Filter.
As far as new attractions, a check of the Sun City Fair website shows two animal encounter type attractions that weren't here last year; a "Tiger Display" and the "Wolf Discovery Zone."
The Marvelous Mutts show is also new this year.
Described as "some of the world’s finest canine athletes, all adopted from shelters and rescues," the show will consist of "Dock Diving Dogs," "World-class Frisbee™ Dogs," and "Agility and Trick Dogs."
All of last year's popular attractions like the animal petting zoo, pony and camel rides, and the pig races will return.
Other entertainment includes The Rhinestone Roper Show featuring trick roping and knife throwing stunts, World-class street performer Wade Henry, who will perform tricks and stunts on his unicycle, and Kid Davie, comedian, magician, illusionist, fire eater, juggler, and stilt-walker. (Now that's a hell of a resume!)
Of course, it’s a good old fashioned country fair, so carnival rides will be part of the mix as will “fair food” — AKA funnel cakes and food on a stick.
Dates and times, and admission prices can be found on the Sun City Fair website.
