Sun City Fair Extends Stay in El Paso – Reduces Admission Price + Cost of Ride Wristband
Good news carnival and fair lovers. The smell of deep-fried carnival food will continue to waft from Ascarate Park for one more week.
Originally scheduled to end April 10, the Sun City Fair has been such a hit that the county and the company that runs the event have agreed to extend it for one more week. The fair will now operate through Sunday, April 17.
The hours will remain the same as the last two weeks, however the price of admission has been reduced to $5 ages 5 and over Monday through Thursday, April 4/11-4/14.
The all day ride pass will also be considerably less. Monday through Thursday the cost for an All Day Ride Wristband will be $10. Friday through Sunday (4/15-4/17), the all day ride pass will be $15. Parking will still cost $5.
All the live music performances and many of the attractions such as the bird show, children’s petting zoo, and the trick horses show remain included in the admission price.
El Paso's first ever county fair has exceeded expectations, both financially and attendance-wise. County Commissioner David Stout, whose precinct includes Ascarate Park, told The El Paso Times the fair has generated a lot of money for the county -- $40,000 in its first weekend alone.
