Sun City Crit Cyclo de Mayo Celebration has been postponed until further notice.

On Monday, May 2, El Paso Live issued a statement saying:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Visit El Paso & El Paso Live must postpone the Sun City CRIT “Cyclo de Mayo” Celebration originally scheduled for May 7, 2022, in Downtown El Paso. A new date will be announced soon.

The Sun City Crit is a free, family-friendly event like no other, as fast-paced bike racing takes over downtown for the day. The start and the finish line are located near San Jacinto Plaza as onlookers and the community line up to support.

Once the new date is announced, the third edition of Sun City Crit will host dozens of (men's and women's) D1 professional teams from all across the United States and Mexico, including national champions, Olympians, and international athletes.

El Paso cyclist enthusiasts can also participate in the fun with amateur category races for both men and women and a kid’s race for children (3 to 10 years of age), followed by the All-Star event.

The bike races are just the tip of the fun; there’s plenty more to see and do, including family-friendly activities, live entertainment, vendors, and more.

Even though we’re not sure why the Sun City Crit was postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances,”  we’ll keep you posted when the new date gets announced.
